Chabad Rockies operates out of Canmore and prepares fresh, delicious kosher meals for visitors traveling throughout the region.

Meals are made to order only. We do not offer walk-in food service.

Ordering Timeline

• We strongly recommend placing orders as early as possible, ideally soon after booking your travel.
• Select meals receive a 5% discount when ordered in advance.
• Orders placed less than 7 days in advance may incur a surcharge.

• Delivery available for an additional fee
• Double-wrapped meals available upon request for reheating
• Meals can be prepared for extended travel

Weekday dine-in is not available. There are several beautiful nearby parks where meals can be enjoyed.

From June through August, we host full Shabbat meals each week.

• Space is limited and often fills quickly during busy travel weeks
• Please confirm location of summer Shabbat meals and services as locations may vary within Canmore

On most weeks we offer complete Shabbat meal packages:

Visitors are always welcome to join Shabbat tefillot, despite the fact that we usually do not have a Shabbat minyan during these months. Feel free to contact us for the Shabbat tefillot schedule.

Shabbat meals and Shabbat-To-Go packages are also available with advance reservation on most weeks.

Summer Shabbat minyanim typically run from mid-June through the end of August, except for the Shabbat before (and sometimes after) Tisha B’Av.

B”H, a daily Shacharit minyan is held during Bein Hazmanim (July 27 – August 14, 2026):

• Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM
• Sunday: 8:00 AM

Mincha/Maariv is scheduled approximately 15 minutes before sunset.

All minyanim take place in Canmore (approximately a 3–8 minute drive from most accommodations and 20–30 minutes from Banff).

We do not yet have daily or Shabbat minyanim from September through May. Shabbat services are still held regardless of minyan availability.

We do our best to accommodate dietary needs whenever possible, including:

• Vegetarian
• Gluten-free
• Nut-free
• Common allergy adjustments

Please note that although we do our best to accommodate these allergies and food sensitivities, the kitchen we operate from is not nut-free or gluten-free. Therefore, we cannot assume responsibility.

We operate a mobile commercial kosher kitchen serving events throughout the Rockies.

We cater:

• Destination weddings
• Bar and Bat Mitzvah celebrations
• Family reunions
• Tour groups
• Corporate and private events

The mobile kitchen is not a food truck and operates only for private or organized events.

The kitchen can be rented with Chabad providing kashrut supervision or full catering services.

There are currently no kosher restaurants in Banff, Lake Louise, or Jasper.

Some local grocery stores carry limited packaged kosher items such as snacks, pasta, and condiments. Availability varies.

Chabad Rockies also offers kosher meat and poultry with advance ordering and subject to availability.

Please note that larger kosher shopping options are not located nearby and require travel to Calgary.

There are over 50 hotels and many Airbnb options within walking distance of Chabad.

• Is a physical room key available?
• Is there 24-hour reception?
• Is there a non-electric building entrance?
• Are direct-access rooms available?

If hotel Shabbat access is difficult, we may be able to help arrange assistance from a non-Jewish staff member for a fee when coordinated in advance.

Baruch Hashem, Canmore is considered very safe, and many guests feel comfortable walking at night.

There is currently no eruv in Canmore.

We provide Shabbat candles for eat-in Shabbat meals, as well as siddurim and some tallitot for services. We recommend that guests drop off their siddur and/or tallit when they come to the hall before Shabbat. Shabbat candles are also available with Shabbat-To-Go orders or upon request for anyone who needs them.

• Large or extra-large cooler – $25 USD/week
• Shabbat urn – $15 USD/weekend
• Shabbat hot plate – $10 USD/weekend

We’d be honoured to officiate at your wedding or bar/bat mitzvah in the Canadian Rockies.
